Burning Man canceled for second year in a row

The legendary Burning Man festival has been canceled for the second year in a row due to coronavirus pandemic.

The organizers announced the decision on Instagram.

According to the website, participants will be able to "wander through virtual worlds", immerse themselves in virtual reality and chat with strangers in regular and voice chats.

Online Burning Man will take place from August 21 to September 5, 2021.

The Burning Man Festival has been held since 1986. Traditionally, it starts on the last Monday in August and lasts eight days in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada, an entire city is being built and large-scale works of modern art are installed.

On the last day, some of them - and necessarily a huge human figure, which became the symbol of the festival - are burned.

In the future, Burning Man plans to establish a permanent site on a ranch in Nevada. The artists who are ready to create a space in harmony with nature were asked to develop the concept of creative space.
