Daft Punk’s Former Creative Director Gives Hong Kong's Cassio A New Design

As nightlife makes a comeback in Hong Kong and the beloved Cassio restaurant and bar is coming back with a new impressive redesign.

Owner Gilbert Yeung teamed up with Paris-based luxury furniture design house, Hervet Manufacturier, for the project, headed by cousins Cédric and Nicolas Hervet.

Cédric served as Daft Punk’s creative director for over 15 years, designing album covers and overseeing stage set design for their performance at the 2014 Grammy's.

"Retro-futuristic elements of walnut wood, turquoise velvet and hairline brass dominate in this epic overhaul. Hervet Manufacturier produced custom-made furniture, lighting and a DJ booth, which Cedric Hervet describes as a “spaceship that landed on the dance floor”.

The said dance floor is surrounded by sleek booths and tables, including a coveted VVIP table which grants access to a private, hidden bar, accessible by a one-time password — because as much as we miss nights out, we certainly don't miss crowding around a bar waiting for service.

Keeping this in mind, the clever new design at Cassio boasts three other bars throughout venue to reduce crowding and waiting time for drinks. One of the bars sits under a massive video art installation by Canadian director and artist, Marco Brambilla, who created the artwork specially for Yeung", Tatler describes.
